Nuuksio National Park

"Helsinki's wilderness area"

1/12
Trips can be from 2h to several days and can be combined with canoeing.

Great place to visit if you only have a short time for your nature experience! The bedrock here is about 2,5 billion years old and has many very interesting geological formations like caves and potholes. Due to its southern location, Nuuksio has a wide range of different habitats that dozens of endangered species like the flying squirrel and lynx inhabit. Being a lake upland means also great swimming possibilities deeper inside the park off the "touristic areas".
